 Later on Wednesday, two key U.S. law enforcement officials will testify in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee to argue in support of backdoors in various consumer encryption platforms, a report said.

If someone knows how to access an encrypted file though a backdoor, than others will. Social engineering is the surest route to break any security procedure.

And we know from experience how the needs of security agencies are abused. 

Plus, do they really think that Apple will be able to sell anything in China if the Chinese know the US can break into any iPhone there?

The security state is determined to destroy the ability of American countries to not only sell digital items in the US but also worldwide.
