LightSail speaks once again.
The Planetary Society’s LightSail test spacecraft reported for duty this afternoon, heralding the end of an uneasy silence caused by a suspected software glitch.
Just a few hours ago, a ground stations received data from LightSail. For the first time in days, indicating that the satellite had rebooted and oversome the software glitch that probably caused it to go silent.
They now have to get a better idea of its exact location and refine the communication paths. Then they can upload the software fix and focus on opening up the light sail.
So very nice. Onward. And upward.
