In an era of widespread genetic sequencing, the ability to edit and alter an organism’s DNA is a powerful way to explore the information within and how it guides biological function.


This technology is very new but progressing rapidly. Now we can do it in both vertebrates and invertebrates. We will be able to create all sorts of new model organisms.

Including humans some day, I expect.
