Kansas officials want more information before deciding whether to remove President Barack Obama from the state’s November ballot.

The State Objections Board heard arguments Thursday on a claim from a Manhattan, Kan., resident that Obama is not eligible to be president because his father was from Kenya. The resident, Joe Montgomery, also questions whether Obama has a valid birth certificate.

Instead of ruling on the matter today, the members of the Board decided that they wanted certified documents from Hawaii and two other states where birther questions have been raised – and tossed out –  before making a decision.

Do these people realize that Mitt Romney’s father was born in Mexico? Does that make him as ineligible as Obama? The Obama birth certificate we have seen is good enough to get a passport. The State of Hawaii has certified several times that he was born in Hawaii. There was a contemporaneously printed announcement of his birth in the Hawaiian papers.

I think this is just a way to delay things since it will take some time to get all the ‘proper’ documents. Not sure what they hope will happen by having he delay.

Perhaps they will vote to keep him off the ballot and force a Constitutional crisis over this.

Just what we need.
