Sanal Edamaruku, an Indian skeptic, went to Mumbai and revealed that a “miraculous” weeping cross was really just a bit of statuary located near a leaky drain whose liquid reached it by way of capillary action. The local Catholic Church demanded that he retract his statements, and when he refused, they had him arrested for blasphemy.

Wow. Demonstrating how a ‘miracle’ actually happens results in an arrest warrant because it hurts the feelings of the local Catholic Church.

How can this sort of thing occur in any sort of civilized country?

  1. The catholic church placed Galileo in solitary because he said the earth was not the center of the universe. He recanted, but continued with his work. It appears the cc relies on ‘voodoo’ to continue their hold on the populace, and not on the real message of Christ.
