Good thing I never read anything at AOL

AOL buys Huffpo
[Via Boing Boing]

AOL is to buy the Huffington Post for $315M. Arianna Huffington will also “take control of all of AOL’s editorial content.” [NYT]

I gave up on the Huffington Post quite some time ago, as it had degenerated into the sort of tabloid writing – it was the anti-vaccine stuff that decided me – seen in so many other sites, like Drudge, Gawker, Politico.

But, good for them, getting a bolus of money for their work. I’m just glad she will take over editorial control of something I do not already read. I do not expect ot to alter my reading habits at all.

  1. When I was a newbie, many moons ago, I had AOL. When I switched, I kept my AOL email address simply so I didn’t have to notify everyone in my address book. Now I want NOTHING to do with AOL. I don’t trust Huffington and an afraid of her/them having any kind of access to my address book. How do I make sure I am out of AOL completely?
