Apple plans to take the wraps off iPhone OS 4.0 this Thursday, April 8 during a special media event in Cupertino. The event will take place at 10am Pacific Time on Apple’s campus, giving a “sneak peek” into the future of the iPhone OS.
The company has made a tradition of unveiling the next major iteration of the iPhone operating system every spring. Since the event is only a few days away, there’s not much time for rampant speculation, but you can be sure to catch coverage of the announcements here at Ars.
I almost went for the 3GS last year. ATT would let me upgrade for simply a new 2 year contract and the upgrade price. I was hoping we might see some other networks coming online and get some competition on the data plan. Nothing so far.
So, will a new OS provide information about a new phone? Will it be worth waiting for the next iteration to move to a new model? We shall see.
