The government now has very few tools left to prevent deflation if we head into that cycle. They can try to create inflation but, because of globilization, deflation elsewhere will make it harder for us to fight it here. This is scary stuff. We are a long way from a stable economy. I think all it will take is another ‘even’ to send us into another tailspin.
