The impact of Apple’s iPad is already being seen in the slowing PC consumer market, but a new survey by Google’s AdMob indicates iPad use is taking the place of a wide variety of other activities.

There are only so may hours in a day. So large numbers of people are spending less and less time watching TV, listening to the radio, or even use their laptops.

It’ll be interesting to see if these trends continue.

AOL Shuts Down Download Squad

In a surprise move Monday night, popular software blog Download Squad became the latest tech casualty in Huffington/AOL’s so-called ‘consolidation’ of its content sites. In an end-of-the-day email, Download Squad’s staff was told that the blog was closed and they were jobless, effective immediately.

From that moment, no further blog posts were made on Download Squad.

The staff should have done what the crew at Engadget did — start quitting AOL months ago and get a new gig ready outside AOL.

I have not found anything interesting to read at Engadget since their editorial staff left. Now here we simply get  the blog shut down. I do not think this will end well. It is too easy for content creators to move elsewhere. Then where do you get good creative people for free?
