Lines of customers looking to buy Apple’s new Verizon iPhone 4 were contrastingly profiled as either noteworthy or “laughably short,” but a smattering of anecdotal reports largely suggest smaller crowds than for the debut of the iPhone 4 last year.

I stopped by the nearby Apple store today and noticed that the number of blue-shirted employees out numbered the customers. They had expected a line at the start of business but found none.
The employee I talked with thought it might because there were also so many more Verizon stores than ATT. It will be intersting to see how many they sell the first week.
