1 Picture; 1000 words – warmer temperatures

What are you looking at?

No, this is not a long-lost Piet Mondrian canvas.

A hint: I’ve taken three charts of climate data and stitched them together to form a single panel. I haven’t done it simply to create a puzzle. I think this way of depicting the data shows a climate trend more clearly than the original three charts viewed separately.

But where did the originals come from? What do each of those little colored rectangles represent? And what specific trend is depicted here? If you think you know, share your answer in the comments section below. I don’t have any prizes to give away. But if you get it right, I’ll share your accomplishment with CEJournal readers, along with additional details.

A big hint – how many rows are there? And why are the last 2 gray?

This is a pretty nice representation of a lot of data. It works much better than a line graph. I wonder how we will feel when every square is black?

A spectacled caiman attacked wildlife presenter Steve Backshall during filming for the BBC in Argentina.

Backshall was looking for yellow anacondas as he waded through wetlands but was taken by surprise by the crocodilian reptile.

The presenter was treated for puncture wounds to his calf before completing filming.

I just loved his reaction. Calmly looked at his leg and continued giving a nice presentation to the cameras. The nasty gashes in his leg did not stop him. The show must go on.

I’d have been jumping around, screaming I’d been bitten y a GodDamn crocodile and wanting to get taken to the nearest hospital ASAP.

It reminded me so much of Eric Idle’s great turn in European Vacation:

App Store, Apple is already working on the OS X 10.6.6 release, which indicates the 10.6.5 release will likely soon be available. According to some reports, it is likely the update will be released within the next few days,” Topher Kessler reports for CNET.

The latest OS X update is available. And rumors are that the iOS 4.2 update will be out this week. I usually let new updates ripen a few days before installing so that any problems that might crop up will hit the Web.

But I want multitasking so bad for the iPad.
