It’s over

One of the great things about the world we live in is having technology that can put together our taxes for us. I just could not imagine having to fill it out by hand and then adding everything up.

Well, I can because I used to have to do it. I remember waiting around at the Federal building to find some of the right forms, because the Post Office only had the standard ones.

Now, software takes care of everything. And it can do some modeling. So it was able to determine that claiming an education credit would save me more money than simply declaring the expenses separately.

And I also had to fill out financial aid for my son, which can also be done online. With my taxes pretty well done, this was also easy.

Yes, it is a pain in the butt and I always promise myself not to wait until the last minute but I like to wait until the last moment when I owe ;-)

I also have gotten used to e-filing. That is also a big saver of time.

But now I can say “Done.”
